Store terms, returns and warranty

Plain-language terms for buying from the MKETICS online store.

Who you are buying from

MKETICS (PTY) LTD, registration number 2026/290708/07. Contact: mketics@gmail.com, 064 686 7919. Address for legal notices: H86 Groutville, Charlottedale, KwaDukuza, KwaZulu-Natal, 4449. MKETICS is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged.

Prices and payment

Prices are in South African rand. Items marked “price on quote” are confirmed in a written quote before you pay. Online orders can be paid by card or instant EFT where shown, or by bank transfer using your order reference. Orders are processed once payment reflects in our account.

Delivery and collection

Courier delivery is quoted separately and confirmed before dispatch. You can also arrange collection. We aim to dispatch in-stock items within 2 working days of payment; “on order” items usually arrive within 3–7 working days, and we will tell you if that changes.

Some products are marked “Ships from supplier”. These are sent to you directly by our authorised supplier once your payment reflects, usually within the time shown on the product, and may arrive separately from other items. MKETICS remains responsible for your order, returns and warranty: contact us, not the supplier.

Cooling-off period

For goods bought online you may cancel within 7 days of receiving them, without reason or penalty, as allowed by the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. Return the goods unused and in their original packaging; we refund the purchase price within 30 days. You pay the cost of returning the goods. This does not apply to software licence keys once they have been sent to you or activated.

Warranty

All goods, new and refurbished, are covered for 6 months against defects in terms of the Consumer Protection Act. If a product is faulty within this period, we will repair it, replace it or refund you, at your choice. Manufacturer warranties on new goods may last longer, and we help you claim them. Refurbished laptops are tested before sale, and their condition and any wear are described on the product page.

The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, liquid, drops, power surges or unauthorised repairs.

Software licences

We sell genuine licences obtained through authorised channels only. Licence keys are sent by email or installed by us, and are linked to the device or account they are activated on.

Second-hand goods

Refurbished and second-hand items are sourced and recorded as required by the Second-Hand Goods Act.
